What to prepare
- cPanel login or a full backup archive from your current host
- A list of email accounts you need moved, with mailbox sizes
- Access to your domain's DNS, or your registrar login
- Any custom DNS records — mail providers, verification records, subdomains
The migration sequence
- Copy files, databases and email to the new account
- Lower the DNS TTL a day ahead so the switch propagates quickly
- Test the site on a temporary URL and fix anything broken
- Repoint nameservers or A records at the new host
- Keep the old account running for a few days to catch stragglers
Avoiding lost email
Email is where migrations usually go wrong. Mailboxes are copied before the cutover and re-synced afterwards, and MX records are only changed once mail is confirmed working on the new server. Keeping the old account alive for several days catches any messages delivered to a stale cache.
After you go live
- Check SSL is issued and HTTPS is forced
- Send and receive a test message on each mailbox
- Verify contact forms actually deliver
- Confirm the first automatic backup completed
- Check Search Console for new crawl errors after a week

Is migration really free?
- Yes, for standard cPanel sites moving onto one of our hosting plans. Very large or unusual setups may need a scoped quote, which we will tell you about before starting.
Will my site go down during the move?
- No. The site stays live on the old host until the copy is tested on the new one; only then does DNS change, and both serve the same content during propagation.
How long does DNS propagation take?
- Usually under an hour with a lowered TTL, though some networks can cache for up to 24 hours.
